The Mobotix V16 takes anti-vandal outdoor home automation camera design to an entirely new level:
- Seriously armored.
While other Mobotix home automation outdoor IP cameras are produced within
rugged thick composite enclosures, and further anti-vandal lense and steel body cover options are available
for some of these, the standard Mobotix V16 enclosure is designed from the ground up for superior anti-vandal performance:
- Bullet-resistant high-grade steel and special glass lens covers are used for extreme anti-vandal resistance.
- The angular case and robust corner mounting design further strengthen the case and its on-wall mounting,
while also concealing and protecting the wall mount bolts and the cabling.
- The Mobotix V16 enclosure also achieves an impressive IP66 weatherproof rating in which it is protected against the ingress of dust,
and powerful water jets (12.5 mm nozzle) from any accessible direction, with no harmful effects. It may operate in ambient temperatures
from -30°C to 60°C.
- The premium metal enclosure for the Mobotix V16 is not only more rugged than other anti-vandal cameras, it is also more aesthetic,
and unlike other vandal-resistant cameras it may actually enhance the appearance of your automated home.
- The Mobotix V16 IP camera lets potential home intruders know that they are being watched:
- One or two visually prominent 6MP eagle-eye camera sensors may be installed in three available
sensor mounts in a single V15; two facing outward (and a little downward), and one downward (and a little outward) to eliminate any
below-camera blind spot if necessary in your home automation application.
- A powerful speaker makes announcements, generates sirens, and conducts clear two-way conversations.
- A sensitive microphone detects events and supports lip-sync audio recording.
- Two programmable LED indicators highlight camera presence, location, and status as is appropriate.
- An efficient reliable highly engineered processor is the brains of the operation.
- A shock/impact sensor detects attempted camera abuse, for triggering recording, emails, and/or lights.
- An reportable in-built temperature sensor monitors and logs environmental conditions.
The Mobotix V16 armored home automation camera's integrated CPU supports
advanced MxActivitySensor visual movement detection, in-camera video management software,
non-volatile audio and video recording in-camera and/or to standard NAS (Network Attached Storage) drives, and
frame rates up to 30 per second. With specialised programming from your Clever Home automation Engineer,
your Mobotix V16 anti-vandal camera may also functionally augment home automation, security,
and access
control systems to mutually enhance each other's capabilities and benefits. With a hardended Mobotix V16 camera
from Clever Home, home automation surveillance has never looked so conspicuously good.
- When two camera sensors are better than one.
The modular Mobotix V16 home automation camera's provision for two different camera sensor types, lenses, and/or directions
can support more complete, effective and reliable surveillance with no moving optical components:
- Two different types of V16 camera sensors may support more effective surveillance coverage under a wider range of lighting conditions.
6MP Moonlight Technology colour sensors for day-time and illuminated nigh-time surveillance, or ultra sensitive 6MP black
& white Moonlight Technology sensors for even greater sensitivity and/or IR illumination applications.
- Two V16 camera sensors of the same type but with different lenses (e.g. wide angle telephoto) may simultaneously support
both enhanced scene overview and more extended zoom capability; or
- Two V16 camera sensors of the same type and the same lense may be installed pointing in different directions primarily outwards,
and downwards, for more detailed and complete coverage directly below the camera.; or
- A single V16 camera sensor may be used in home automation situations where that is all that is needed, in the most appropriate
direction, while still allowing a second V16 camera sensor to be installed later if required.
- Eagle eyed.
Mobotix home automation IP cameras are engineered to
provide superior quality video and clearer sharper still images. Mobotix starts with the quality of the lenses and the physicall large 6MP
colour image sensors, and follows all the way through with a customised video compression Codec designed specifically for surveillance
applications. Mobotix home automation cameras are designed to be able to support new higher levels of
image quality, digital zoom capability, low light sensitivity, and single frame clarity. Simply having more pixels without improving
the lenses, sensor size, and video compression (as other brands of cameras do) does not necessarily result in better surveillance
images. For even greater low-light sensitivity and IR-illuminated applications B&W sensors with no moving optical parts are available.
A Mobotix V16 home automation camera is designed to allow you to better identify moving objects (usually people or vehicles) at lower
light levels.
Mobotix V16 home automation IP cameras offer even further improved low light sensitivity using advanced
MxLEO hardware processing. MxLEO is a new exposure and image optimization program exclusively developed
by MOBOTIX for their colour and B/W 6MP Moonlight Technology camera sensors.
- Enjoy free Award-Winning Mobotix
MxActivitySensor directionally-selective movement detection that is dramatically improved from
the basic movement detection used by other IP cameras, and may more reliably and selectively detect and trigger
security, surveillance,
and home automation responses to movement
in particular directions in many circumstances.
MxActivitySensor movement detection is performed completely within your
Mobotix V16 home automation IP cameras. The Mobotix MxActivitySensor won Benchmark Magazine's
prestigious Innovation Award for Best Perimeter Security System 2014, and further improved versions
of MxActivitySensor have been released in subsequent free firmware updates.
- Notifications.
Movement detected by the Mobotix V16 home automation camera's unique directionally sensitive
MxActivitySensor, sounds above a programmable level, physical shocks to the
camera body above a programmable threshold, external temperatures beyond
programmable levels, or home automation or
security system
integrated inputs, may trigger:
- Notification to you over the Internet directly from your Mobotix V16 cameras.
- Audio and video recording of visitors and potential intruders.
- Integrated security system inputs that then notify you and/or a security monitoring center.
- Local audio announcements or sounds via a surprisingly loud and clear inbuilt speaker.
- Home automation integration.
A Clever Home automation Engineer
may integrate your Mobotix V16 cameras with your home automation system using
locally hardwired Mobotix Radar Proximity Box, CamIO and ExtIO modules (using the V16B with MxBus support), or by using two-way IP communication with IP-supporting
devices (like the Wiser home controller,
C-Bus
6.4" touch screen, or the integriti security
panel) to:
- Automatically record during security entry, exit, and alarm events.
- Record anytime when manually or automatically triggered from your home automation
wall switches,
touch screens
and Wiser mobile device apps.
- Detect movement in total darkness using the Mobotix Proximity Box Radar Sensor to activate C-Bus home automation
lighting, so your Mobotix V16 cameras may act as an automatic lighting sensor, and then record a clearer
more brightly illumnated image of the intruder.
- Allow external C-Bus home automation PIRs to activate external lighting and trigger camera recording.
- Detect sounds above a programmable preset level using the Mobotix V16 IP camera's inbuilt microphone,
to automatically trigger recording, and also activate nearby C-Bus lighting if it is dark.
- View live and recorded event images of your home, control digital pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ), and invoke custom
exposure areas for each PTZ view - all from your C-Bus
6.4" touch screen home automation controller, on the new Mobotix
MxDisplay touch screen, or on your computers using Free MxSoftPanel software.
- Free iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch App.
The official Mobotix
iPad/iPhone App provides a premium quality mobile user interface to your Mobotix V16
home automation IP cameras, and you may download it for free from the Apple Apps Store.
- Free professional video management software.
Most features of the MxManagementCenter
software are free, whether you use MobotixV16 home automation IP cameras, or other Mobotix technology,
and regardless of how many IP cameras comprise your home automation surveillance system.
MxManagementCenter
software exceeds the standard of traditional video management systems, and may be used with Mobotix and
non-Mobotix IP cameras.
- The Mobotix edge.
On top of all of the above benefits, you also get to enjoy the other unique and important benefits that make
Mobotix the number one manufacturer
of Megapixel IP cameras in the world.
- The V16 cameras are the new Mobotix
Mx6 Series Versions of the earlier V15 armored camera.
The V16 home automation cameras look the same from the outside as their V15 counterparts, but the V16 versions
use a more powerful dual-core CPU to deliver up to twice as many images per second at the same resolution, or
to support additional in-camera software. The new V16
home automation IP cameras also support an integrated H.264 encoder and follow the ONVIF standard for video
transmission and camera integration, which may simplify integration of these Mobotix cameras in some larger
home automation implementations
– though they also still support the unique Mobotix MxPEG codec which remains a superior compression
format for storing clearer individual frames for surveillance applications. An MxBus interface for optional
external Mobotix modules was not supported on the initially released Mobotix V16A, but is supported on the newer
hardware Mobotix V16B versions.
