"We have now used Dr. Brendan Rogers
at Clever
Home for three projects involving home automation, security
and audio-visual implementation. All
the projects have been for our personal use and have been individually designed to cater
for the specific requirements of the projects at hand. The initial project was for our
Melbourne primary home residence in 2001, thence the construction of a new rural property
on the Mornington Peninsula in 2008 followed recently by an upgrade to the Melbourne home
in 2011.
Brendan Rogers is the most knowledgeable and dedicated specialist
contractor we have dealt with at any time with our building projects. Through all phases
of the system design, implementation and through life support, Brendan's work is typified
by faultless documentation, timely responses to queries, the capacity to work out
solutions to unusual or difficult problems, excellent record keeping and the ability to
relate well to the tradesmen and project managers.
It was the high level of organisation and ability to provide robust
solutions that added enormous functionality and safety to our
initial project that has meant that we returned to Brendan for projects 2 and 3.
The property on the Mornington Peninsula highlighted the benefits of automation
and integrated
security and energy management in
general. At any time I am able to remotely arm and disarm alarms on the residence or
machinery sheds via SMS messaging.
I can visually confirm via integrated surveillance cameras the status
of the residence if an alarm is raised via real-time video link to my iPhone.
Providing access through gates
and doors remotely for contractors or
maintenance staff is straight forward and secure.
The energy management systems designed by Brendan Rogers permit
control of heating, air-conditioning, window blinds, all lighting,
irrigation and GPO control for critical appliances
such as irons, to name just a few.
Brendan designed a system to electronically monitor the fluid level in
an underground potable water tank on
a C-Bus screen and provide an
alert by SMS
if low levels were achieved so that should problems arise when we are not in residence I
can respond appropriately. This ensures that the rural property is never caught with
inadequate water. Lesser home
automation designers would not have been able to integrate this critical
functionality for our rural property but made us resort to lifting heavy covers off tanks
and using a dip-stick.
Importantly, Brendan has been extremely helpful in the post
implementation phase of the project. It is not often that we require assistance, however if advice is
sought, Brendan is always prompt and very thorough with his responses. This provides a
high level of end-user satisfaction and peace of mind that value
and improved amenity will follow the design of a home automation and security system by
Clever Home. There are many contractors
willing to provide advice and purport that they can design a home automation system, but I
value the highest level
of training and product knowledge that inevitably leads to reduced
cost and improved outcome.
This is a result of being provided with the most efficient means of developing the
solution due to extensive product knowledge matched with the experience derived from being
in the home automation design arena from the very beginning.
I would seek out Clever Home and Dr. Brendan Rogers for
my next home automation and security project without question."

"My wife and I are totally happy with
the comprehensive home automation service
provided by Clever Home. Even now, Clever Home continues to provide exceptional follow up
service and support, months after completing our
home automation.
Dealing directly with
Clever Home without going through any third parties worked really well. We contracted
Clever Home, and the installing
electricians worked from Clever Home's automation plans. As our project
progressed we also became increasingly pleased that we had not relied on an electrician
only for our home automation.
Our home automation touch
screen is a delight to use, and blends in beautifully with our glass wall switches,
as they all have the same Saturn style black glass surround or facia. Clever Home improved
the aesthetics further by making the colours of the on-screen graphics complement the
black glass touch screen surround.
Clever Home produced a customised graphic touch screen
interface for our home that is easy-to-use and comprehensive, as well as attractive. They
also kept accessible on the touch screen home automation functions that we may easily
change ourselves: |

I still get a little buzz from seeing the automatic lights in remote
areas of our home fading on and off on the touch
screen floor plans, and being able to centrally monitor the open/close state
of our garage and perimeter doors.
Our automatic C-Bus
lighting inside and outside is really convenient. It also reduces our electricity bills
by automatically turning off unnecessary lighting, as evidenced by our modest power bills.
After adjusting sensors in each room to our preference, the automatic lighting works like
a charm. When we need manual lighting control, we just disable the automatic lighting
sensors temporarily using thoughtfully programmed wall
switches.
I didn't fully appreciate how special the Linn audio video
equipment is until we moved in and started listening to our favourite tracks - which now
have a new lease of life. We also enjoy an impressively natural home theater experience
from the really neat Linn
Classik Movie driving high quality in-wall speakers and a Linn Sizmik Subwoofer.
Our Linn Classik Music
pumps out quality stereo sound through full range in-wall speakers in the Master bedroom.
Aside from being arguably the ultimate quality alarm clock radio/CD, the Classik Music
transforms the experience of watching films/programs on our LCD screen, and is an integral
part of our Linn multi-room audio.
I still can't get over the amazingly big sound produced by the Linn multi-room audio in
our large open Dining and Living area from only four discrete in-ceiling speakers. It
really rocks!
Access control of our
front door is a breeze. Visitors are greeted with a very attractive flush stainless
steel video intercom. We can clearly see and talk with visitors from any of
the three inside video intercom stations, and then let them in. Pictures of visitors that
came while we were away are also stored for our review later.
We routinely enter or leave through our locked front door without keys
using security keypads on each side, and may remotely let trusted friends or relatives in
by sending an SMS.
Our access control is
supervised by a professional Inner Range Concept
4000 security panel, which has been skilfully integrated with our home
automation. This also sends us specific SMS security messages when required if we are away
from home.
When we started out, we knew we wanted to enhance our new home with
quality home automation, but needed professional
help. Clever Home patiently helped us understand our options and select what we wanted,
and then made it happen. They also ensured that the quality
of our home automation system exceeded our expectations, while delivering the bundle of home automation benefits that we
requested. My wife and I now have a great home automation system, and know how to use and
enjoy it properly. What more can you ask?"

"I first came across Clever Home
during a google search trying to make sense of all the smart-house technology out in
the market and how it might be put to use in a period style renovation.
Brendan Rogers knows how to make it all happen and has immense
enthusiasm for his work. During the planning and construction of the renovation, he solved
countless issues that were way too difficult for electricians, builders and architects.
Now we have integrated automatic lighting,
louvre control, door locks, security, and computer LAN
throughout the house: Clever Home planned and organized the
lot.
Of course they can do much more: take a look at the Web site.
But dont be baffled and put off by the complexity of it all. Clever Home
is extremely thorough, and they can also put it all together! They are right up with the
absolute latest in equipment and software programming to make it work. Brendan is also
able to think beyond the standard applications of the technology: by listening
to our special requests, he managed to hide it all away and blend into our 120
year old house as if it was wired when power first came to the place!"

"I would like to express our sincere
appreciation for the way in which your Company has designed, implemented and managed the
installation of our Clipsal Minder and C-Bus system.
Your input and advice certainly went beyond reasonable expectations
and the fact that we are still able to seek your advice certainly makes our transition to
"smart home" technology a smooth one.
Your ability to communicate intricate coding instructions into easily
understood layman terms has enabled us to undertake minor modifications to our system.
This has certainly given us confidence in using the system. The system is even more convenient than I
expected..."

"I would highly recommend
Dr. Brendan Rogers as
a C-Bus/Clipsal home automation
specialist and consultant. I have found him to be
extremely knowledgeable with this technology, fast and efficient with addressing my
questions and issues, and creative and practical with his suggestions.
I have a large Clipsal home lighting system
located in the United States, and recently I needed assistance
with locating, isolating, and repairing some issues with my
system. My original installer was no longer available to assist me. I then found and
contracted with Brendan for hourly consulting to provide me with Clipsal/C-Bus
expertise and product knowledge and to assist me with resolving my problems. At first I was somewhat
reluctant to engage a consultant so far away in Australia and deal with time zone
differences, but this proved to be no real problem. Our interchanges consisted entirely of
internet-based communications, and this medium proved completely sufficient for resolving
my problems.
If you need access to in-depth Clipsal/C-Bus expertise, then
Brendan Rogers can
be an invaluable asset to have on your team."
